As temperatures plunged below freezing over the weekend, Columbia’s homeless shelters took swift action to ensure no one was left out in the cold.
At Transitions in downtown Columbia, nearly 300 people were provided lunch on Sunday, and 42 individuals found overnight refuge in the day room, in addition to the shelter’s 260 beds.
