Multiple schools in North Carolina announce closures for Wednesday

NORTH CAROLINA — Many school systems across North Carolina have announced closures, remote learning days and delays for Wednesday as communities continue to deal with hazardous conditions following a major winter storm.

In the Piedmont Triad and surrounding regions, several districts will not hold in-person classes Wednesday: Alleghany County, Randolph County and Rockingham County schools will be closed for all students and staff, while many others will shift to remote or virtual learning.

Alamance-Burlington, Asheboro City, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, Guilford County, Mount Airy City, Montgomery County, Davidson County, Davie County, Elkin City, Lexington City, Stokes County, Surry County, Orange County, Wilkes County and Yadkin County schools are among those observing remote learning days rather than traditional classes…
