FLOWOOD — Mississippi Blood Services is urging residents to donate blood this week after winter weather forced multiple blood drive and donation center closures across the state, reducing the available blood supply.
In a statement, the organization said hospitals continue to need blood every day and called on donors, particularly in the metro area, to help rebuild inventories.
