MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Police in Wisconsin are taking proactive steps to combat speeding on a major highway in the state after a recent incident of a driver going nearly 40 miles per hour over the speed limit.

According to the Madison Police Department, the driver wasn’t just speeding on the Beltline, one of Wisconsin’s busiest roadways; they had two children in the vehicle, neither of whom was properly secured.
A three-year-old in the back seat was not in a child safety seat and while the one-year-old was, they were not properly buckled. The driver was cited for reckless driving due to going 93 in a 55, speeding and operating with a revoked license.
