Department of Corrections employee fired, two suspended in wake of ‘Slender Man’ escape

MADISON, Wis. (WISN/WBAY) – A state department of corrections employee has been fired, two others suspended following the November escape of “Slender Man” stabber Morgan Geyser, according to Milwaukee affiliate WISN 12 News.

Geyser, known for stabbing a fellow 12-year-old nearly to death in 2014 to appease the internet character Slender Man, was placed in a group home in Madison after being conditionally released from a mental facility this past summer.

On Nov. 22, Madison police said she cut off her ankle monitor and left the home. About 24 hours later, police found her in Posen, Illinois, sleeping outside a gas station with a 43-year-old friend…
