New golf performance business to blend simulators, high-tech short-game complex

A new indoor golf performance business in northeast Sioux Falls is nearing its opening.

Iron Range Golf Performance has been developed by co-owners and PGA professionals Danny Sinksen and Drew Trautman. It’s located in a northwest Sioux Falls industrial park at 5501 N. Interchange Ave. not far from the new Mapleton Golf Club.

The owners “wanted a place dedicated to performance, dedicated to helping our golf community here in Sioux Falls get better, and we know with what we’re building, we’re going to be able to do that,” Trautman said. “The scale is pretty vast.”

The 10,000-square-foot building includes a “world-class short-game complex” spanning 3,000 square feet.

“With that, we have seven hole locations,” Trautman said. “Outside of the grass being artificial, it’s built like a real putting green — slope, undulation, different breaks — so you have every ability to work on any putt or chip you could possibly imagine.”…
