Salem City Council authorized the city to enter into a Claim Disposition Agreement to resolve the workers’ compensation claim of $550,000 for a former Salem firefighter who died in 2019 from cancer.
The case involves the widow of Maurice “Mo” Stadeli.
Stadeli worked as a firefighter paramedic for Salem for 28 years. He was diagnosed with tonsillar cancer in 2018, underwent treatment and died six months later.
