Newark police search for armed suspect after rifle-style gunfire reported on Hawthorne Avenue
Newark, NJ – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man caught on surveillance footage holding a rifle-style weapon near the scene of a shooting reported Saturday morning on Hawthorne Avenue.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., officers responded around 10:11 a.m. on January 17 to the area of Hawthorne Avenue and Elizabeth Avenue after receiving reports of shots fired.
