A Longtime San Francisco Tex-Mex Favorite Has Shut Down

San Francisco’s longtime Tex-Mex spot Cadillac Bar and Grill has permanently closed, ending a decades-long run in the city’s Mid-Market neighborhood. Michael Rodriguez, owner and operator of the restaurant, recently shared the closure news with an effective date at the end of 2025. Rodriguez cited rising costs and declining foot traffic in the Mid-Market area as key factors behind the decision.

Cadillac Bar & Grill Closes

Located at 44 9th St, San Francisco, CA, Cadillac Bar and Grill has been a local favorite since the late 1980s, known for its authentic Tex-Mex cuisine and lively atmosphere. The restaurant was also known for its bar scene and its location near Twitter’s former Mid-Market headquarters.

The owner of the restaurant, Michael Rodriguez, announced the closure and said, “After much reflection, I’ve decided that the end of 2025 was the right time to close this chapter.”
