The demolition of one of Wilmington’s oldest shopping centers has begun.
The North 17 Shopping Center is undergoing redevelopment. A one-story retail building on the 1.59-acre property at 4302 Market St. is being demolished and redeveloped as a five-story, mixed-use building.
Upon completion, four stories of residential space will sit above one story of retail. The new 67-foot-tall building will house 53 residential units, with 25 one-bedroom, 26 two-bedroom and a pair of three-bedroom units, according to the site plan…
