Days after a snowstorm brought more than 20 inches to multiple Massachusetts cities and towns, only one school remains closed Wednesday.
Middleborough Public Schools has remained closed all week, citing narrow roads and a lack of cleared sidewalks. The town received 17.5 inches of snow Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
“At this time, many roads remain narrow due to significant snow accumulation, making it difficult and unsafe for school buses to travel, particularly when vehicles are approaching from the opposite direction. In addition, sidewalks remain unsafe for students due to large snow piles forcing students to walk in the road, and in some areas snow piles are so high that vehicles cannot safely pull out into traffic,” the school district wrote Tuesday around 4 p.m…
