Community Rallies to Support Restaurant Following Fire

The community is rallying to support Campestre Chicken after a kitchen fire forced the restaurant to temporarily close at the Maryland Farms Shopping Center in White Oak, a retail center that spans both Montgomery County and Prince George’s County.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to the fire on Friday at the restaurant’s location at 11400 Cherry Hill Road. According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the incident was determined to be a grease fire that originated in the kitchen ductwork. The fire was brought under control, and no injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at approximately $30,000, and fire code enforcement and a Montgomery County health inspector were notified following the incident.

In a statement shared with the community, Campestre Chicken said the fire caused significant smoke and water damage, requiring a temporary closure.
