Mixed-income apartment building opens in Uptown Charlotte as new “affordable” option

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A new 353-unit mixed-income apartment building has opened in Uptown Charlotte.

Located on North Tryon Street, Trella Uptown will offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom floorplans, with 70 percent of apartments priced at market rate, and 30 percent of apartments offered to those earning 80 percent or less of the average median income.

The property will offer amenities like a podcast studio, a pet spa, a yoga studio, a terrace and a rooftop deck.

“Almost a third of the units are for affordable, working families,” said Cheron Porter, executive vice president of corporate communications for Inlivian, formerly known as the Charlotte Housing Authority. “If you work and you’re the executive at Bank of America, or if you work at concessions at Bank of America [Stadium], we have a place for you”…
