EMSA announces response efforts in storm-related incidents Jan. 23-27

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – EMSA says its paramedics in Oklahoma City overall responded to an increase in weather-related emergencies during Oklahoma’s first winter storm.

According to EMSA officials, between Friday and Tuesday morning, crews responded to the following storm-related incidents:

  • Carbon Monoxide Incidents: 3 calls, 0 transports
  • Cold Exposure Emergencies: 37 calls, 26 transports
  • Slip & Falls: 143 calls, 122 transports
  • Traffic Accidents: 45 calls, 10 transports

EMSA anticipates a decrease in winter weather-related calls but says it will continue to remind everyone to use extreme caution as patches of ice could potentially create hazardous conditions…
