A former Neenah teacher has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor drug charges Jan. 27 at the Winnebago County Courthouse in Oshkosh, according to public court records.
Benjamin Schmidt, a 46-year-old Neenah resident, pled not guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of THC. He paid $500 to the court through a signature bond, under the condition that he not use or possess any controlled substances without a prescription.
While Schmidt was initially placed on administrative leave from his position at Neenah Middle School, Neenah schools’ communications director Jim Strick said the board of education had voted to terminate his contract during the open session of a Jan. 23 meeting…
