Another strong Texas cold front is already in the forecast. Here’s when it’ll arrive.

The Texas deep freeze is behind us, and a statewide warming has commenced. Over the next 24 to 36 hours, temperatures for many of us in the state will rise back to near-average levels, with afternoon temps returning to the 50s and 60s. Any leftover snow and sleet across North and West Texas also will finally melt away.

Of course, temperatures won’t stay warm for long, as another relatively strong cold front is already in the forecast. While the next front won’t bring the same kind of hazards as the previous cold front, it will result in multiple mornings with subfreezing temperatures. Here’s what you can expect.

Wednesday’s forecast

Expect another very cold start to the day Wednesday, as morning lows fall into the upper 20s to low 30s across the San Antonio metro area. While not quite as cold as the past few days, Wednesday will likely be San Antonio’s fifth consecutive day with low temperatures below the freezing mark.

With mostly sunny skies in place overhead, temps will rise quickly. Expect San Antonio to reach 40 degrees just after 9 a.m. before hitting the 50-degree mark around noon. Afternoon high temperatures are expected in the upper 50s, with many areas just south of San Antonio expected to top out in the low 60s.

Winds will be very light, expected at around 5 mph or less throughout the day. A bit more cloud cover is expected by evening, but no precipitation is anticipated…
