SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A powerful, new independent film is gaining attention online for its raw, realistic portrayal of suicide and suicidal ideation — highlighting the mental health struggles veterans may face after service.
‘The Last Seven Days’ follows a U.S. Army Veteran vlogging his thoughts and feelings on his last week before a suicide attempt. “It sounds a bit dark. Maybe it is a little dark,” director and editor Rickey Jewkes says. “But it’s ultimately a message of hope.”
Ultimately, the goal is to help people notice they are not alone, including those struggling with suicide ideations or those who may have lost a loved one to their battle.
The movie was filmed entirely in Utah using local locations and crew. The idea began back in 2024 and now is finally ready to hit the silver screen…
