Felon gets up to 80 years in Monroe County firearm stockpile case

A Monroe County man was sentenced to serve up to 80 years in prison for his role in a straw purchasing operation, which included his girlfriend buying illegal guns for him.

On Wednesday, Monroe County Court of Common Pleas Judge Jennifer Harlacher Sibum sentenced 41-year-old Ramon Roldan, Jr., of Saylorsburg, to serve 40 to 80 years imprisonment on 29 felony counts of a person not to possess firearms.

Roldan was convicted in November following a three-day jury trial. He originally faced more than 100 felony offenses but some counts were dismissed and he was acquitted of charges related to making false written statements, according to court records…
