ALLENTOWN — PPL is out with some money saving advice. As winter heating costs climb, PPL Electric Utilities is out with some cold-weather energy tips to help families lower their bills. PPL says keeping baseboard heaters clean and unobstructed improves efficiency, while heating only occupied rooms can cut energy use by up to 20 percent.
They say for homes with heat pumps, PPL recommends keeping thermostats steady, limiting adjustments to three degrees or less, and using heat mode instead of auto. PPL also advises sealing drafts, using ceiling fans to circulate warm air, limiting exhaust fan use, and keeping vents free of dust. More at PPLelectric.com…
