Germantown Family Loses Home In $400K Fire As Community Rushes In To Help

The fire broke out at a large single-family home in the 11000 block of Brink Road in Germantown on Tuesday, Jan. 27, when improperly discarded fireplace ashes ignited combustible materials inside a garage, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials said.

The blaze quickly spread from the garage into the home’s crawl space and walls, triggering a massive response that included 10 engines, five ladder trucks, a heavy rescue unit, six water tankers, and multiple EMS crews, according to spokesperson Pete Piringer.
