BCSD Board members seek $3,000 per month for meetings

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield City School District’s Board of Education members are considering giving themselves a big raise, according to the meeting agenda for Tuesday.

School board members who attend all board meetings receive monthly stipends as compensation.

BCSD Board members now receive $787 per month. A revision to a bylaw would increase monthly compensation for each member to $3,000, nearly quadrupling their current stipends, according to school district officials.
