Manatee County enforcing water restrictions as drought conditions worsen

BRADENTON, Fla. (WWSB) – Manatee County officials are imposing water restrictions that will be in place until July after a severe water shortage was announced.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District has declared a “modified Phase II ‘severe’ water shortage” due to ongoing dry conditions across the region.

All residents in Manatee County, including those using private wells, will be required to follow one-day-per-week outdoor watering restrictions beginning Feb. 8 through July 1, the county said in a news release Wednesday…
