Woman pleads guilty to manslaughter after killing man in her home

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — A Niagara Falls woman has plead guilty to stabbing and killing a man in her home in June of 2024.

Thirty eight-year-old Chanel Groom pleaded guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree for stabbing 36-year-old Timothy Day of Buffalo, which led to his death.

According to Niagara County District Attorney Brian Seaman, Groom admitted to stabbing Day in his chest on June 1 of 2024. “This domestic incident was quickly escalated by the defendant to extreme violence. There was no reason for Mr. Day to lose his life that night.”…
