HOPKINSVILLE, KY – Crews from neighboring counties are responding to assist Christian and Muhlenberg County road crews as Kentucky Transportation Cabinet employees work to remove significant ice accumulations from state highways.
During last weekend’s winter storm, a line of ice tracked across southern Christian County into Muhlenberg County, leaving areas with challenging conditions. In some locations, crews are reporting up to three inches of ice frozen road surfaces.
Unlike neighboring counties that received measurable snowfall before the ice event, much of the precipitation in the Christian and Muhlenberg areas froze directly on the pavement.
