CLEVELAND, Ohio — A jury found three people guilty on multiple charges after prosecutors said two brothers bribed a former East Cleveland official to facilitate a $10 million scam.
Wednesday, brothers Zubair Al Zubair and Muzzammil Al Zubair were found guilty on nearly all federal charges related to the accusations. Michael Smedley, the chief of staff for former East Cleveland Mayor Brandon King, was also found guilty after prosecutors said he accepted a bribe from the brothers.
