Duggan Makes Big Gains in Latest Governor Poll

DETROIT —A new poll conducted by Glengariff Group for The Detroit News and WDIV-TV released today shows that Michigan voters are ready for a change in Lansing, and Mike Duggan is the change they are looking for.

“In one potential matchup, about 34% of participants said they would vote for Republican U.S. Rep. John James of Shelby Township, 32% chose Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson of Detroit and 26% backed Duggan, the former mayor of Detroit. The result was within the poll’s margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, and 8% of participants said they were undecided,” wrote the Detroit News.

In May of 2025, Glengariff Group conducted a similar poll with Benson at 34.5 percent, James at 34 percent and Duggan at 21.5 percent, with the remaining 9.4 percent undecided…
