Oxford man arrested after allegedly ramming his truck into woman’s van during argument

An Oxford man was arrested after allegedly ramming his truck into a woman’s van several times with her still in it.

Dispatchers received a call about 52-year-old Ricky Allen Fort driving his vehicle into a woman’s vehicle while she was in it after an argument at an Oxford home around 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the residence to find a red Ford F-150 and grey Chrysler Town & Country, both with heavy front-end damage. The latter’s bumper was hanging off, its radiator was cracked and leaking, the hood was bent inwards, and the vehicle was unable to start due to the damage. But the Ford had only scratches to the bumper, the report said.

The woman said Fort started a verbal argument with her, during which she left and got into her mini-van. Fort followed her outside to get into his truck and pull in front of her. He then rammed her vehicle with his while she was still inside, the report said…
