Florida teen arrested after allegedly hitting mom with a pork chop

(NewsNation) — A Florida teen was arrested for battery after she allegedly hit her mom with a pork chop during an argument.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to a home on Thursday, Jan. 22 regarding a “verbal dispute” between a teen and her mother. When police got to the home, Cynthia Kernan told them her daughter, Farrah Kernan, had been drinking earlier and that they’d gotten into an argument.

In the probable cause affidavit, Cynthia Kernan said that at some point during the argument, the younger Kernan, 18, allegedly slapped her and showed officers video footage of the slap that a friend of hers took.

Before she was slapped, Cynthia Kernan said Farrah Kernan threw a pork chop at her, which was not recorded in the video. The responding officer said they found food residue from the pork chop on Cynthia Kernan’s left shoulder that seemed consistent with her statement…
