Nearly 50 Wisconsin bank employees to lose jobs following merger

BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) — Forty-seven employees at a Wisconsin bank will be without jobs following the complete shutdown of two facilities in late March.

According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Bank First will permanently close its Beloit Annex Building and Beloit Operations Center as part of a merger with First National Bank.

The layoffs are expected to occur between March 31 and May 30 and are the result of duplicative roles created through the merger.

The affected employees are not represented by a union, and bumping rights do not apply. Bank First said all impacted workers will be notified on or before Jan. 29 and will receive all earned wages and agreed-upon benefits in accordance with state and federal law.
