A new Lurie Children’s pediatric hospital is coming to the western suburbs.
According to a press release, a Lurie Children’s is planning a “community-based pediatric hospital” in suburban Downers Grove. The proposed low-acuity hospital, officials said, will “be designed to meet the needs of a growing population of families in the region.”
“This new facility represents a significant and needed investment in local health infrastructure and pediatric health,”, Downers Grove Mayor Bob Barnett said in the release. New healthcare facilities are about more than expanding services – they are about being there and caring for our neighbors.
