THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — A duplex was significantly damaged by fire as Thurston County sheriff’s deputies served a court-ordered eviction notice at a home Wednesday morning.
Deputies said the tenant of the Lacey home in the 4800 block of Carpenter Road SE was not cooperating and refused to leave. They said he knew the eviction was scheduled.
After negotiations, deputies said the tenant released his dog, allowing Animal Services to take custody of it. Shortly after, deputies said a fire broke out in the tenant’s side of the duplex while the connected unit was occupied. The person in the other unit was unharmed…
