Only 10 minutes away from Muhlenberg’s campus, the Allentown area has a new local cafe that emulates the feeling of warmth, coziness and home: The Cozy Crumbs Café. Opening Jan. 2, owner Tala Mdanat is fulfilling a lifelong dream to build a cafe that offers an environment where the local community can enjoy drinks, treats and find a place where they belong. Mdanat shares, “The Cozy Crumbs Café is inspired by family, community and the idea of creating a space that feels like a home. We wanted to build more than a cafe– we wanted a place where people could slow down, connect and create memories.” Muhlenberg students have a chance to enjoy a snug and comfortable environment just a quick trip away from campus.
The cafe is located in Allentown’s ArtWalk, a spot in downtown Allentown that features destinations such as the PPL Center and the Allentown Art Museum. It is dispersed with local cafes, restaurants, shops and art. Mdanat says, “We hope people feel comforted, welcomed and genuinely cared for the moment they walk in. Our values center around kindness, quality, creativity and community. The culture is cozy, inclusive, family-oriented and intentional– a place where love, effort and connection are felt, not just served.”
The Cozy Crumbs Café is full of a variety of Mediterranean-inspired bites, featuring baklava, croissants, Dubai chocolate and savory pies. They are known for their inventive Dubai chocolate and Biscoff-flavored treats, such as brownies, pastries and cookies. Many popular drinks adorn the menu, including coffee, tea, matcha and hot chocolate.
