GERRY, N.Y. — Another nursing facility in Chautauqua County is preparing to close, citing ongoing financial and operational challenges.
Heritage Ministries says it plans to close Heritage Village in the Town of Gerry as part of an effort to maintain its two other local facilities. Officials say the facility has experienced a significantly reduced resident population since the COVID-19 pandemic, serving fewer than 40 residents in a building designed to accommodate more than 100.
“They’re only closing down one of the three facilities they have right now, right sizing, if you will. And hopefully this will correct, you know, their their shortfalls,” Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel said…
