Engineering firm buys downtown Grand Rapids building for new office

Engineering firm Ignyte Design is building out a new headquarters in downtown Grand Rapids after buying a two-story building in an area experiencing a flurry of real estate activity.

The electrical, mechanical and plumbing design firm purchased the 105-year-old building at 62 Commerce Ave. SW, along with a surface parking lot at 74 Commerce Ave. SW, on Dec. 11 for $2.75 million, according to online property records.
