The California Highway Patrol’s Redwood City office has put out a call to the public for assistance in gathering information on a hit-and-run that resulted in a fatality this past Sunday. According to a social media post from CHP – Redwood City, the tragic incident occurred on the eastbound Embarcadero Road on-ramp to US-101 southbound around 5:00 am.
The chain of events unfolded when officers received a report of a pedestrian on the on-ramp, arriving at the scene at approximately 5:48 a.m., they discovered the pedestrian had been hit by a car, and despite the immediate response, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene; investigators believe the responsible vehicle is a Chevrolet SUV, possibly a Tahoe or Suburban with expected moderate to major damage to the front end.
