ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — DeKalb County officials will host a drive-thru food distribution event at several locations on Saturday.
DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson and the county board of commissioners are sponsoring the giveaway, which looks to hand out 4,000 boxes of fresh produce and nonperishable food.
“Food insecurity remains a nationwide challenge,” Cochran-Johnson said in a statement. “This work is only possible through collaboration. With the support of our board of commissioners, faith leaders, volunteers, and community partners, we are meeting families where they are and delivering help when it matters most.”…
