State of Emergency extended for city of Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Mayor Paul Young has signed an extension of the city’s State of Emergency Declaration effective Thursday.

The extension comes after a severe winter storm dumped snow and ice across the area last weekend.

Young said the declaration allows the City to mobilize emergency resources and protect public safety.
