Jasper County deputies arrest man, seize drugs, firearm after pursuit

JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Tuesday, seizing drugs and a stolen firearm after he led deputies on a pursuit.

Torrell Kemp, 40, of Ridgeland, South Carolina, was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to stop for a blue light (second offense), possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of ecstasy, possession of a stolen pistol and possession of a weapon during the commission of a drug offense.

Deputies attempted to stop Kemp after he was traveling at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly. He refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit.

The pursuit ended on Roseland Road before he attempted to flee on foot.

A K-9 track led to Kemp’s apprehension, and a search warrant was then executed…
