Menasha man sentenced to 30 years for 2024 Fond du Lac arson case

FOND DU LAC – A Menasha man will serve prison time for a September 2024 duplex fire on Packer Street in Fond du Lac.

On Jan. 27, Fond du Lac County Judge Anthony Nehls sentenced Mike Perez, 62, to a prison term of 30 years for arson and first-degree reckless injury. The sentence breaks down to 20 years of initial prison confinement and 10 years of extended supervision, according to Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney.

The fire started after 11 p.m. Sept. 23, 2024, and the Fond du Lac Police Department responded alongside Fond du Lac Fire Rescue to find the east side of the two-story duplex engulfed in flames.
