With just over a week to go until our Souper Bowl of Caring event, we’re gearing up for what we hope will be our biggest fundraising effort yet — all to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
In the days leading up to the event, we’ve been learning more about how the Food Bank supports families across our community. And as Shelby discovered, food pantries today are about much more than just groceries — they’re about connection, dignity, and support during tough times.
We visited a large food pantry at O’Brien Middle School in the North Valleys. What makes this pantry unique is that it doesn’t just serve families connected to the school — it’s open to anyone in the surrounding neighborhoods who needs help.
