Asheville, Western NC issued winter storm watch. How much snow is expected

It looks like Asheville and Western North Carolina are in for another round of winter weather this weekend, but it’s expected to be more on the fluffy side instead of icy.

The National Weather Service’s confidence of snow hitting the North Carolina mountains continues to grow as predictions for measurable snowfall for Jan. 30-Feb.1 continue to rise on Thursday, Jan. 29. At 6:30 a.m., the weather service issued a winter storm warning for their entire forecast area that includes Western North Carolina, the Piedmont, and Upstate South Carolina.

“A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for our entire area from 4 p.m. Fri through Sat night. Significant snowfall accumulations and difficult driving conditions are expected.
