Baltimore neighborhoods inspire names for rescued sea turtles at National Aquarium

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Baltimore residents helped put a local stamp on a group of rescued sea turtles now recovering at the National Aquarium, after submitting neighborhood names as part of a community naming contest announced in November.

The contest drew entries representing almost 100 distinct Baltimore neighborhoods and concluded Dec. 1, just days before 40 cold-stunned sea turtles arrived at the Aquarium’s rehabilitation facility from New England.

The top five neighborhoods receiving the most votes (in order) were Canton, Hamilton, Hampden, Patterson Park and Fell’s Point…
