BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A family filed suit in Jefferson County alleging staff members at Glenwood, a residential treatment provider for kids with disabilities, physically and sexually abused a 17-year-old living there.
The attorney representing the family, Tommy James, said the 17-year-old is living with serious autism and has been staying at Glenwood since last year. James said on two separate occasions that the teen was abused by staff and failed by the system.
“His mom put him in there expecting safety, expecting care and instead of being a safe place and a caring place, it became a house of horrors for him,” James said…
