SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — As neighborhoods in Southaven and Hernando start to clear, two city leaders in DeSoto County are standing by their decisions not purchase any major additional snow equipment.
Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite says navigating through the winter storm has been a challenge, but he feels the decisions he made were right for the city as a whole.
“We discussed this. We planned this, but it’s important to note that this is an unusual weather event,” said Musselwhite.
Musselwhite called the storm the worst one the city has had since 1994.
