HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Horry County authorities arrested the owner of the Myrtle Beach-area repair shop, months after his shop came under the microscope.
The Horry County Police Department charged Modern Rust owner Bruno Dasilva, 42, Tuesday with a charge of breach of trust with fraudulent intent, more than $1,000 up to $5,000.
The victim dropped off her vehicle for Dasilva to repair on Sept. 18, 2025. She learned the cost would be around $4,000, and police said she handed Dasilva $2,000 during the drop-off.
