2 more arrested in homicide case involving 20-year-old found in burning car

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Two men were arrested Thursday in connection with an October homicide in Longs involving a man found dead in the backseat of a burned vehicle.

According to the Horry County Police Department (HCPD), “Stoney Floyd Jr., 20, of Loris, was discovered deceased in the backseat of a vehicle that had been set on fire,” Oct. 4, 2025.

HOMICIDE INCIDENT

ABC15 previously reported that Jayveon Nylek McCaskill, 20, of Longs, was charged with accessory after the fact of felony A, B, C, or murder Oct. 22, 2025.

HCPD reports said McCaskill was seen following a black Mitsubishi Outlander in his black Hyundai Genesis in the Longs area Oct. 4, 2025.

Upon arrival, people from McCaskill’s vehicle and the driver of the Outlander ignited the Outlander car on fire, according to warrants…
