Florida’s largest illegal vape bust targets Milton stores selling to minors, cops say

MILTON, FL. (WKRG) — The largest ever illegal vape bust in all of Florida was conducted on Tuesday, with the Milton Police Department seizing over 500 vapes at stores across the city that were specifically marketed to young kids.

“Combining with the Attorney General’s Office, with the Bureau of Liquor and Tobacco, with the Florida Department of Agriculture, the Florida Department of Health, the Gulf Breeze Police Department and many more of our other professional agencies, we were able to go out and conduct compliance checks,” Milton Police Chief Jen Frank said.

After a month of preparations, MPD spent one day checking seven locations.

“These vapes in particular has been identified as dangerous to children and in order to do this operation, we actually utilized an undercover minor to go in an attempt to make a purchase,” said Frank.
