RENSSELAER — The Albany police officer and a co-defendant charged over the weekend in a months-long drug investigation have been released from custody.
The attorney for Officer Nathan Ensel said his client was released Tuesday from the Rensselaer County jail. He and his co-defendant Leocadio Espinal pleaded not guilty to drug charges Saturday in Rensselaer City Court. Ensel, 45, was released with electronic monitoring Tuesday after appearing in Rensselaer County Court in Troy, his attorney Adam Eggleston said Wednesday. Court records show Espinal, 46, was released Wednesday. His attorney could not be reached for comment…
