An officer arrested on-duty on suspicion of DWI — police say he had an open beer in his patrol car’s center console — now is facing suspension for an incident in which the Police Department says he drove recklessly and verbally abused a suspect in the back seat.
Paul Fencik, 46, has been on administrative duty since his own colleagues arrested him July 31. After officers detected alcohol on his breath, Fencik failed a field sobriety test and called his coworkers “rats,” as captured in body-camera footage of the arrest.
