SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Springfield police are investigating after one person was found dead and another was injured Thursday afternoon, Jan. 29.
Officers responded at 1:58 p.m. to the 1200 block of East Elm Street for a welfare check, according to Springfield Police Department public affairs officer Cris Swaters.
When officers arrived, they found one person dead at the scene from a gunshot wound. A second person was located with a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital for treatment with life-threatening injuries…
